Peter Aceto '90 had the privilege of being an Olympic Torchbearer. On December 18, 2010 he carried Canada's Olympic flame 300 metres. In the ING DIRECT newsletter Peter says: "I was deeply honoured to contribute to such a tradition. To be a part of world history that dates back to the 8th Century BC - over 2500 years ago as well as Canadian history that again is being created. The wonderful part is that even with the modern Olympics, the torch really has not changed that much and every four years citizens of the host country come out and show their pride for their country and the athletes competing by running cross country, ready to pass along the torch to the next person in the relay."
